*Update: I had since purchased a couple of diamond engagement rings from White Flash with A Cut Above diamonds. If you are interested to see more details, scroll all the way down to watch some of the videos I recorded.
As many of my readers already know, I’m a huge fan of White Flash because of their transparent business practices and their strict adherence to providing quality jewelry. Previously, I did an indepth write up on their diamonds and received quite a huge amount of feedback from interested readers.
In today’s post, I’m going to show you what you can expect to receive in your FedEx delivery parcel when you purchase an “A CUT ABOVE” diamond from WhiteFlash.com. Also, I performed a video review on the A CUT ABOVE diamond’s performance in various lighting.
For the purpose of reviewing White Flash’s service, I bought this diamond at a wire price of $879.79.
FedEx delivery service is well-known for being punctual and secure. And it’s true; FedEx is one of the most reliable logistics company I had lots of experience with. In my previous job as a researcher, I used to order supplies from various locations around the world and never had a single negative experience with FedEx.
When I started buying diamonds online, FedEx was always my preferred shipper if I’m given a choice of USPS, UPS or DHL. Depending on which part of the world you are in, the parcel delivery from White Flash may take up to a week.
For customers based in the United States, you can expect to receive your purchase within 1-2 working days.

In my particular case, the shipment to my residence took a total of 4 days to reach me from WhiteFlash’s headquarters in Houston, TX.
You’ll find a beautiful calendar with stunning engagement ring photographs.
All A Cut Above diamonds come with an AGS lab report with triple ideal ratings (000).
With every purchase of an “A Cut Above” diamond, you’ll also receive a free tool kit.

Tweezers for picking up loose diamonds for easier inspections.

The diamond is cleverly suspended between 2 rigid plastic sheets.
Here’s a tilted view of the transparent box.
Using my own ASET/Idealscope toolkit, I managed to snap a couple of pictures of the loose diamond using my mobile phone. If you are wondering what these images are for, they are useful for reviewing cut quality and analyzing light return.

Using the free Hearts And Arrows viewer from the tool kit, I managed to capture the following images which reveals the crisp optical symmetry displayed by “A Cut Above” diamonds.
Symmetrically formed arrows and hearts patterns are a result of extreme cut precision.
All in all, the entire process of buying a diamond at White Flash is pretty straightforward. This is largely due to the amount of information they provide on their diamond listing pages (e.g. magnified images, ASET/Idealscope image, sarin report) which really enables you to make better decisions.
I was recently tasked with helping my brother shop for his diamond proposal ring and he ended up choosing a Vatche setting from White Flash. His budget for the engagement ring was around $4,000 and here’s a breakdown of the setting and diamond that were chosen.
With White Flash, the experience of buying a high quality diamond ring was really straightforward and enjoyable. As this was a designer setting, the ring completion took roughly 30 days and it was securely delivered via FedEx. Check out videos for the box opening and diamond performance reviews below…

I’m based in Singapore as well. Which is the most popular diamond cuts for engagement rings in the current market? I am pondering between round cut vs princess cut diamonds and I’m not sure which is the shape to choose.
How is the GST for the purchase being paid? Do you have to go to the custom offices to make payment or do you have to make payment to FedEx on the spot when the parcel is received on the spot?
Currently, the 2 most popular diamond cuts are rounds and princesses. Choosing a shape is really up to personal preferences and there is no right or wrong answers. You probably want to do a check with your fiancee to see what her preferences are. If unsure, stick with the evergreen round brilliant cut.
GST is paid on your behalf by FedEx to expedite delivery. You will receive a separate billing from FedEx a few weeks after you receive your jewelry.
Thank you very much for your great help in our diamond purchase!
Your knowledge was there all the time during our difficult and stressful journey towards the purchase of an engagement ring.
We know you are married, you look so young! Do you already have a family, just.curious….your kids must be as smart as you!
You are welcome and it’s a pleasure to hear about your story. I know buying diamonds is a stressful experience because of their high costs. That’s why I started Beyond4cs.com to help people who were like me. Side note, I’m planning for a child in very near future!
Dear God, outside of buying a house or a car, this has to be the most stressful purchase my Fiancé and I have made. I mean, who knew there was so much to know?
Paul, I have truly found this review of A cut above so very helpful. WhiteFlash does seem to be the best bang for our buck. However, do you happen to know if there are any taxes or hidden fees that are added to the diamond price?
There are no hidden fees in the diamond prices you see at White Flash. You only pay applicable taxes depending on what your government or local laws dictate.
Thank you Paul. I will see what taxes are applicable here in Raleigh, North Carolina (USA)
Paul,
Thank you for all your amazing information. Glad I happened upon your site because I was about to make a grave mistake on buying a pair of diamond earrings. Imagine my surprise when I found out that White Flash is 15 minutes from my home in Houston. Your thoughts on what you think are the best qualities for a pair of 2 cwt diamond studs and best setting option? I have a budget of $10k and would like the best quality for my money.
You should prioritize cut quality (sparkle) and size for earrings. Since viewing distances are further, going down in color and clarity would make practical sense.
