Overview of UnionDiamond.com’s e-commerce website.
Union Diamond is an Atlanta based corporation that primarily deals in diamond jewelry. Originally, they started out as a wholesale outlet for loose diamonds, supplying to dealers and retail stores alike.
As their business grew, they branched into retail sales where they started selling directly to customers and became one of the better known online diamond retailers.
The following article is a review of UnionDiamond.com where we look into their business model and product offerings. Hopefully, this review will shed light on their services and help you make better purchasing decisions.
As you would expect, their website looks professional and is designed with an easy to use interface. To begin your search, you can create an account to save your shortlisted items or simply shop as a guest to start browsing their offerings.
You could also use the basic search tool by entering a few keywords to narrow down what you are looking for. Thereafter, you can refine your search by using the ‘product’ or ‘resources’ classification parameters.
The biggest problem with online engagement ring shopping is the lack of tangible data like videos and photographs to help you see what you are buying.
Like many other online retailers, many of the diamond listings on Union Diamond only provide a certificate and nothing else. As a discerning shopper, the grading report doesn’t contain sufficient information for analysis or reveals how the diamond looks like in real-life.
The company deals mainly in pre-set and custom-set jewelry which are distributed directly from their Atlanta showroom. Other products that Union Diamond offers include fashion jewelry like earrings, necklaces, pendants, bracelets and watches.
Interestingly, even though they do have a sizable inventory of loose diamonds, custom-made engagement and wedding bands remain their best selling retail items.
If you are looking for a loose trilliant cut diamond, UnionDiamond is one of the rare vendors that carry this line of fancy cut stones. In fact, Union Diamond is the only trustworthy vendor that I know of with a decent range of GIA certified trilliant cut diamonds.
One of the biggest advantages of shopping at Union Diamond is the huge range of products that is available through their extensive wholesale contacts. This means you will likely find a suitable piece of jewelry regardless of your tastes or budget. Even if an item is not readily available at a certain point in time, they have the resources to source something for you within 24 hours.
The other feature I like about Union Diamond is that the majority of diamonds found on their website actually comes with a GIA grading report. If you had read my comparison of the different grading labs, you would know that a reliable 3rd party grading report is your assurance that the diamond’s quality had been accurately described.

In terms of pricing, UnionDiamond.com offers slightly better prices compared to big-name stores like BlueNile. For instance, an identical round diamond with the following specs: 1.71 carats, G color, VS1 clarity, 62% depth, 55% tables, excellent symmetry and polish, costs $1000 less at UnionDiamond ($15,730) compared to BlueNile ($16,795).
When it comes to payment, Union Diamond offers a 3 percent discount if you choose to pay by wire transfer. Other payment methods include PayPal and all forms of major credit cards. However, since there are transactional charges borne by the retailer when you use Paypal or credit cards, there are no discounts for these payment types.
Also, what I like about Union Diamond is that their product packaging looks very impressive and professional. In my opinion, I think their packaging is one of the better ones in the jewelry business.
You can contact their 24/7 customer support through your account on the website, phone, or live chat. One good thing about Union Diamond is that they have a designated support agent who can help you through your entire buying process.
Whether you need help in registering an account, searching for ideas, custom designing your ring or making payment, you can always get in touch with them to walk you through the processes. On top of that, you get a 30-day money back guarantee on your purchase.
UnionDiamond.com is definitely an option for people who are budget-minded but still want something impressive. While their wholesale operation allows them to have better price flexibility over their competitors, they fall short in one important aspect of online shopping.
That is, the consumer has to buy blind without seeing how the diamond or jewelry looks like!
Even the most basic attribute of providing magnified diamond images isn’t made available to the shopper and this puts any purchase at significant risks of turning out bad. For this reason, we can’t recommend them when there are far better options in the market for consumers.

Union Diamond- 2020 CHAD WHITE left Atlanta, Georgia with my $10,000.00 ring I purchased from union diamond. He is NO where to be found and will not return emails or voicemails. What a DECEITFUL man with NO VALUES. #WorthlessHuman
Union Diamond did me very well in my purchase from them. Markus was very helpful to me, while feeling my options for one of the most exciting days of my life. The buying options were very selective. The perfect diamond was offered to me for a very good price and was above expectations to any one that knows diamonds. I would suggest union diamond in all sales for being above average in the whole process. My experience was easy and shipping was very reasonable. I truly wished they were still in business.
Union Diamond was the best and Leah took great care and attention to the needs of what diamond I was buying for my wife unfortunately now we’re having an issue with the ring and I’m forced into working with a company that I have to trust I’m really going to miss the service that I received from Leah and union Diamond.
