That’s Me!

Diamonds are timeless representations of special events and unforgettable moments in our lives. People give and receive diamonds as gestures of love, trust and friendship.

And behind every diamond on a lady’s finger, lies a heart warming story that is worth telling by the person wearing the ring and also a personal story by the person who has picked out the diamond for someone he loves.

This story led to the creation of Beyond4Cs.com…

My name is Paul Gian and this website was created for one sole purpose; to teach you everything I know about diamonds and how you can use the information here to help you make a wise decision on buying diamonds.

Back in early 2012, I had plans to purchase a diamond engagement ring for my girlfriend. It was during this period of time that I had researched intensively on diamonds and also experienced the major problems of finding a fancy cut diamonds in local brick and mortar jewelry stores.

Like many others who ventured online for alternatives, I too, took the leap of faith in placing an order for an engagement ring via the Internet. If you haven’t done so, you can read my story of purchasing a diamond online here.

With that experience I had gained, I had gone on to create this website to help clueless people who are in the same shoes as I was back then. At that time, I wasn’t a trained or professional gemologist by trade. However, I had gained an extensive knowledge on diamonds when as I started to read and research widely into the topic.

My current collection of certificates (still growing) from courses I took…

Out of interest and passion, I had attended numerous diamond grading courses and gemology seminars (paid out of my own pocket) to learn more about these beautiful stones. Towards the end of 2012, I decided to pursued a formal Graduate Diamonds Diploma from GIA.

Within 6 months, I graduated and aced my lab grading class which was made up of full time jewelers and professionals. Truth be told, the course is cakewalk for me with the amount of prior experience and knowledge that I had before signing up for the program.

Being Listed as a GIA Alumni

The cool thing thing is that I am actually listed as a GIA alumni in their online directory here:

This website consists of my first hand knowledge on buying diamonds online and I hope that it has helped you answer some of your questions. Even if you do not intend to purchase your ring online, there is a wealth of information and better knowledge that you can equip yourself with before stepping into a local store.

To summarize, making the correct purchase can sometimes be difficult especially if it is your first time buying a piece of diamond jewelry. If you are new, a little planning and research can make for a great, shining experience that has positive repercussions into the long term. Remember, diamonds are forever.

All the best,

Paul Gian signature
